What I Think – I Feel

Beautiful Day-1 copy

After many days of clouds, snow, and grey weather I woke up to a glorious sunny day.

And as I thought – what a beautiful day! – the song “Oh What a Beautiful Morning” popped into my head.

The chorus:
Oh what a beautiful morning,
 Oh what a beautiful day,
  I’ve got a wonderful feeling,
  Everything’s going my way.

kept going over and over in my thoughts and I found myself feeling really, really good!

It’s amazing how thoughts really affect our emotions.

The fact that it was a beautiful day outside did a lot to help my good feelings along, but I could have closed my eyes and thought those words and still felt wonderful.

The other part that really helped me get to that state of bliss was the fact that I believed those words.

I know that everyday is beautiful and everything’s going my way all the time.

If that weren’t the case I probably wouldn’t have had such a strong reaction.

Does that mean that someone who is not feeling as good about their life would not have a positive reaction to those words?

I don’t believe so. Thinking positive thoughts will elevate anyone’s mood and believing them helps even more.

So I think it is important when  trying to find those positive thought to make the words you choose to think as close to what you accept as possible.

The adjectives can easily be changed to tone it down a bit. For instance:

Oh what a nice morning,
Oh what a nice day,
I’ve got a good feeling,
Many things are going my way.

It doesn’t sound as pretty, and it isn’t necessary to change all the adjectives – just the ones that don’t really resonate.

The important thing is what makes it easier to believe for someone who isn’t experiencing beautiful and wonderful things most of the time.

Finding good emotions that feel possible now is the trick to improving the mood and discovering your Lost World.

A special bonus I found in the first line of the third verse in this song is a phrase that is wonderfully true in my Lost World –

All the sounds of the earth are like music

and so I was inspired to create this collage and turned some of the words into a Cinquain Poem.

There’s a bright golden haze on the meadow,
There’s a bright golden haze on the meadow,
The corn is as high as an elephant’s eye,
An’ it looks like its climbin’ clear up to the sky.

Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I’ve got a wonderful feeling,
Everything’s going my way.
Repeat chorus

All the cattle are standing like statues,
All the cattel are standing like statues,
They don’t turn their heads as they see me ride by.
But a little brown mav’rick is winking her eye.

Repeat chorus

All the sounds of the earth are like music,
All the sounds of the earth are like music,
The breeze is so busy it don’t miss a tree,
And an ol’ Weepin’ Willer is laughin’ at me.

Repeat chorus
